Rescuers Scrambled, but Pair Died Quickly

When a young couple scrambling from their car in a flash flood in Queens were electrocuted on Wednesday by a dangling power line, utility workers and firefighters were only blocks away. The couple, Joseph Cheetham and Alana Berenson, were killed almost immediately, officials said, so even though help was nearby it was too late to save them.
