Case Dropped Against Mother In Fire Deaths

The Brooklyn district attorney's office has decided not to pursue charges against a woman whose two children died in a fire after she left them home alone to go to work. The office said that it was still investigating the case and that the charges it had brought against the mother -- reckless endangerment and challenging the welfare of a child -- were dropped ''without prejudice.'' That leaves open the possibility that she could be charged again.
