A Break for E and V Riders At 53rd and Lexington Station

Queens-bound E and V trains stopped during the morning rush yesterday at the 53rd Street and Lexington Avenue station in Manhattan for the first time since a $59 million station rehabilitation project began in November 2002. The work included a new 100-foot escalator in the center of the E and V platform, which the Metropolitan Transportation Authority hopes will alleviate crowding on the platform and improve the flow of passengers.
